NHL’s Murphy releases statement on Chara review Wednesday, 03.09.2011 / 3:25 PM / News NHL.com

TORONTO – National Hockey League Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations Mike Murphy today issued the following statement on Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara’s hit in NHL game #996 last night against the Montreal Canadiens:

“I conducted a hearing with Boston Bruins‘ defenseman Zdeno Chara with respect to the major penalty for interference and game misconduct that he was assessed at 19:44 of the second period for a hit on Max Pacioretty of the Montreal Canadiens.

“After a thorough review of the video I can find no basis to impose supplemental discipline. This hit resulted from a play that evolved and then happened very quickly — with both players skating in the same direction and with Chara attempting to angle his opponent into the boards. I could not find any evidence to suggest that, beyond this being a correct call for interference, that Chara targeted the head of his opponent, left his feet or delivered the check in any other manner that could be deemed to be dangerous.

“This was a hockey play that resulted in an injury because of the player colliding with the stanchion and then the ice surface. In reviewing this play, I also took into consideration that Chara has not been involved in a supplemental discipline incident during his 13-year NHL career.”

Anyways, feel free to put your two cents and keep in mind that the Habs suck.

May 24, 2010 - Habs vs Flyers

Final Score: Montreal Canadiens(2) - Flyers(4)

Philadelphia ended a Cinderella ride by the Canadiens that had seen No. 8 Montreal upset both the East’s top-seeded team, the Washington Capitals, and the defending Stanley Cup champion, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

But Montreal had no magic left in this round, shut out in 9 of the first 12 periods of this series to fall into a three-games-to-one hole that proved to be too much after rallies from 3-1 and 3-2 deficits in the previous two series.

The Canadiens, who were 5-0 in elimination games this season, held on for the rest of the period; but succumbed to the Flyers non-stop pressure in the second period.

Anyways, feel free to put your two cents and keep in mind that the Flyers won simply because the Habs suck.

Final Score: Montreal Canadiens(1) - Penguins(2)

So they got back to basics to solve Montreal goalie Jaroslav Halak and earn a 2-1 victory. The Habs stood no chance going into the first period. Poor defense and a lack of offense!! We should be ashamed of ourselves if we continue to play like that.

Letang scored late in the first period on a power play, and Gonchar fired home a blast through traffic midway through the second period. That proved to be the game-winner when Mike Cammalleri slid a rebound through Fleury’s pads with 30.8 seconds left.

Anyways, feel free to put your two cents and keep in mind that the Penguins won simply because the Habs suck.

Final Score: Montreal Canadiens(3) - Penguins(6)

Halak stopped just 15 of 20 shots he faced on this night as Pittsburgh shredded Montreal’s vaunted penalty kill, which had allowed only one goal in 33 opportunities by Washington in the last round. Halak was pulled with more than 14 minutes left in the third period to complete a stunning fall from grace in a 48-hour period.

Pittsburgh defenseman scored three of the Penguins’ four power-play goals — on only four attempts — as Sergei Gonchar, Kris Letang and Alex Goligoski all beat Halak. Jordan Staal scored the other power-play goal before leaving with an undisclosed injury midway through the second period.

The Penguins used quick puck movement, a willingness to get to the net and frequent changes of the point of attack to flummox Montreal’s shot-blocking defense and force Halak to face far more quality scoring chances that Washington generated in the latter part of its series against Montreal.

Anyways, feel free to put your two cents and keep in mind that the Penguins won simply because the Habs suck.

The Habs hope Price is Right. Ya right! For those that think that the Canadiens are good guess again!!! What a crappy performance once again!

They had your hopes up during the first 2 periods didn’t they? The Capitals hammered he Habs 4-1 on the third period taking the win home!

Final Score: Montreal Canadians(1) - Capitals(5)

Did anyone think we stand a chance of winning after the first period? Even with a power play advantage, the Habs couldn’t defend against the Capitals scoring goal after goal. What an embarrassment for the Habs. Even on their own turf. I can’t believe that it only took 13 shots to score the first 3 goals.

No matter who the Habs but in nets, they will always suck. Both Price and Halak should stick to playing golf.

Anyways, feel free to put your two cents and keep in mind that the Capitals won simply because the Habs suck.

Final Score: Montreal Canadiens(5) - Capitals(6)

What a surprise! Another disappointing loss for the Habs. If the Capitals managed to win over the Habs it’s because the Canadians let them skate all over them. Defense was poor and Halak stood no chance against Ovechkin’s game. The Habs suck big time!

Anyways, feel free to put your two cents and keep in mind that the Capitals won simply because the Habs suck.
